The Warrior Community

Alright, I'll try to make this quick. I've been hitting on unity, unity, unity. But here comes the KO punch to it all.

Psalm 133 is one of my faves. It says "How good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity." It goes on to talk about two mountains and says if the dew that is on this one would rain on that one.

Some of the best fight camps there are have a bunch of guys within the camp that are like family. On top of that, some of the best camps even have housing for their fighters so they can all live around each other. Why? Because they're a community where everyone is focused on one thing and everybody starts rubbing off on one another. There's a reason the Spartans were the best warriors: They were a warrior community!

When I can not only live with my brothers, but actually live as one with them, the best of each of us starts getting on the whole community. At The Grappler's Garage, we were like a family, but each of us had different fight backgrounds. If you wanted to learn takedowns, you hung around one of the wrestlers for a month. Submissions, find a jujitsu guy. Standup, find one of the guys doing what you wish you were doing. It was awesome and I watched people grow so fast.

I especially say this when there is someone whose style works but that you don't care for. What are you missing because you just stay away from it? God has told me that if I don't really like someone's style in life, fighting, ministry, I need to partner with them for a little while and see how we affect one another. I will bet you both come out better.

If the dew of one mountain would rain on the other: If the anointing that just seems to easily show up on you everyday with little effort would just pour down on me. And if my anointing would just pour down on you. What would that community look like?

So what are you currently doing to pass your gifts and talents on to others?

Post this on The Spiritual Warrior Facebook page.
