Get In The Middle of It

If you're on this site, you probably already are aware that I have a book out. But what I have noticed, as well as many of my friends, is that I just don't stop thinking about God and life in terms of being a warrior. Everything that enters my brain seems to go through this filter that says "What if this situation was in the middle of a fight?"

So the same thing with this blog. My spirit has wanted to release so much more of what comes through it. I love the way people have responded from hearing life messages put into the perspective of being a warrior. So in order to hone my skill of writing, find my specific voice, and help others, I knew I needed to start blogging. But I didn't...

I also have wanted to see a bigger version of what happened with the team I was part of in Kansas City, The Grappler's Garage. It was a team of friends. We were also brothers in the Lord. I have wanted to see an online community where people give respect like among warriors but also don't hold back any punches...like warriors. I feel that is the only way real truth is found and isn't held back by nonsense. I think it is the spiritual equivalent of MMA where styles(doctrines) cease to criticize each other for being different, learn from one another, and say, "If it works, it works." So I wanted to see this community, but did nothing...

So the advice to myself was this...Get in the middle of it. You can think about a fight, plan for a fight, prepare for a fight as much as you want. But the pressure isn't in the planning. The pressure comes when you take that step into the ring. There are times where you walk in not wanting to feel how hard that other guy can hit. But once you are hit, all of a sudden you just don't care and you let loose...because it is all there is to do. So enough preparing. Enough planning. It is just time to get in and either win or lose.
